Walt Disney Co is preparing to launch its first Asia-based cruise ship, the Disney Adventure, a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The Disney Adventure will be the largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, boasting an impressive 208,000 gross tonnage and a capacity for 6,700 passengers along with a crew of 2,500. It will be homeported in Singapore for at least five years, aligning with the city-state's ambition to become a leading tourism hub in Southeast Asia. This launch coincides with Singapore's tourism resurgence, having welcomed 4.4 million visitors in the third quarter of 2024—a 14% increase compared to the previous year.
