Walt Disney Co is preparing to launch its first Asia-based cruise ship, the Disney Adventure, a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The maiden voyage is scheduled to depart from Singapore on Dec 15, 2025, with tickets now available to the public—offered a full year in advance. Members of Disney's cruise loyalty programme were given early access, reflecting the enthusiasm surrounding this venture.
The Disney Adventure will be the largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, boasting an impressive 208,000 gross tonnage and a capacity for 6,700 passengers along with a crew of 2,500. It will be homeported in Singapore for at least five years, aligning with the city-state's ambition to become a leading tourism hub in Southeast Asia. This launch coincides with Singapore's tourism resurgence, having welcomed 4.4 million visitors in the third quarter of 2024—a 14% increase compared to the previous year.
The ship promises an array of features that blend Disney magic with Asian influences. Highlights include seven themed areas inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Marvel films, as well as a 250-metre Iron Man rollercoaster, the longest at sea. Dining options will cater to diverse Asian tastes, offering everything from Indian and Japanese cuisine to bubble tea.For those interested in booking a voyage on the Disney Adventure, various packages are available to suit different budgets:
- Maiden Voyage (3-5 nights): Starting at US$1,564 for two adults.
- Family Package: A three-night ocean-view room for four is priced around US$3,400.
- Premium Option: Two exclusive frozen-themed suites are available for an unforgettable experience.
Bookings for the Disney Adventure will officially open on Dec 10, 2024, with further details regarding pricing and specific sailing dates expected to be released soon.
