The company realized a net income of $33.2 million, or EPS of $1.66, in the three months ended November 2, compared to a loss of $2.2 million, or EPS of $0.12, in the same period last year. After excluding one-time items, the company's EPS was $2.48. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected an adjusted EPS of $2.65. Revenue grew by 8.1% to $811.7 million, which was below Wall Street's expectation of $812.2 million.
CEO Gary Friedman stated, "Our business is experiencing a positive turnaround, and demand in the third quarter grew by 13% despite the worst real estate market in 30 years."
