Nippon Steel Co., Ltd.
Nippon Steel Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Nippon Steel) cooperated with Sado's graduation work through the design titanium TrantiXXII (Trantixii) in order to contribute to the development of human resources responsible for the next generation of traditional architecture at the SADO Traditional Culture and Environmental Welfare College (NSG Group, hereafter, SADO) at the Miyadaiku Training College in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture.
Nippon Steel's titanium sales department and the East Japan Steel Works Naoetsu district (hereafter, Naoetsu district) sympathized with SADO's educational philosophy and began exchanges with the same school in 2022, and in 2023, they were asked to create a shrine at Inari Shrine in the Naoetsu district using our design titanium TranTiXXII as a graduation work for students to train palace carpenters who are responsible for history and traditional culture.
My graduation work this time is a titanium-roofed covering company, and it plays a role in protecting and covering the building (former Inari Shrine) presented as historical material from the Naoetsu district for human resource development from wind and rain on the SADO campus site. Also, to commemorate the registration of Sado Gold Mine as a World Heritage Site, gold-colored titanium was adopted, and the cutting-edge material, designer titanium protects good old historic buildings, contributes to their succession to the future, and symbolizes SADO and Nippon Steel's will for the future development of traditional architecture.
This project was molded with high technology by Harasada Sheet Metal Co., Ltd. (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture), which handles roofing sheet metal for traditional buildings in the same Niigata prefecture, and SADO students carried out roof finishing under the practical guidance of the company's Hara president, and everything from material manufacturing and molding to finishing by students was able to be realized consistently within Niigata Prefecture.
In addition to its strong corrosion resistance and the fact that the metal base does not corrode, the structural titanium TranTixxII design is not affected by ultraviolet rays, and the beauty of color due to interfering colors can be maintained semi-permanently, reducing maintenance load for the next generation. In addition to this, there is almost no metal ion elution, and colors due to interfering colors do not require painting/volatile organic compounds (VOC), and it is an environmentally friendly metal. We contribute “beyond time” to inheriting history and traditional culture in harmony with the environment.
Nippon Steel always pursues the world's best technology and manufacturing capabilities, and will contribute to the development of society by developing manufacturing processes that meet the “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations and providing excellent products and services.
