Ranhill Utilities has announced the appointment of Mohd Hedzir Hanafi as the new Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
According to a Bursa filing, the group said Mohd Hedziris a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in project finance, advisory, and capital markets, specialising in water, power, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, among others. Prior to joining Ranhill Utilities, he served as the Team Head and Senior Vice President in the Capital and Project Advisory, Debt Markets at AmInvestment Bank Berhad.
His expertise is in energy sector includes structuring and financing large-scale projects such as independent power plant, waste-to-energy, solar power and hydropower projects, all of which align with Ranhill's goals in energy space. In the water sector, MHH has provided strategic advisory on investment structures and sustainable funding models for water infrastructure projects, improving their financial feasibility and addressing challenges in the sector.
He is was also an Independent Non-Executive Director at Pengurusan Air Aset Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance from 2020 to 2022. He served as Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee and contributed to the Project Delivery and Integrity & Compliance Committees. Before joining AmIB, MHH held key roles at CIMB Investment Bank Berhad (Regional Project Finance Advisory Unit), Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (Infrastructure Finance), and RHB Bank Berhad.
