The electronic wallet platform AlipayHK welcomes the suggestion that taxi drivers provide electronic payment methods as proposed by the Hong Kong government for legislative regulation.

AlipayHK mentioned that the platform currently offers various payment collection methods for taxi drivers, including driver collection codes and mobile Octopus payment machines that also support AlipayHK scanning. As of now, the number of transactions using AlipayHK to pay for taxi fares has increased by 140% year-on-year, and AlipayHK has also integrated with multiple taxi booking platforms, including Gaode, DiDi Global Inc, Uber Taxi, and others.

In addition, the number of transactions by AlipayHK users using local taxi-hailing services has increased 30 times year-on-year.
