HKEX (00388.HK) announced the launch of a comprehensive Fund platform database, aiming to improve the transparency of Fund investment product information in Hong Kong. The database will cover more than 2,000 Funds approved by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, providing market participants with a convenient channel to access important information about Funds, which is expected to enhance transparency in the Hong Kong Fund market and increase investors' awareness and understanding of Funds, thus promoting the Industry's long-term development.
HKEX's co-head of the market, Su Ying-ying, stated that HKEX announced last year the preparation for developing a comprehensive Fund platform to optimize the Hong Kong Fund Industry ecosystem. As one of the initiatives of the platform, the Fund database is believed to make it easier for investors to access Fund information, helping them make investment decisions based on sufficient information, and enabling participants in the Fund ecosystem to serve their clients more effectively.
Other features of the comprehensive Fund platform, including the Business platform and communication network, are actively being developed. These features will assist in the transmission of Fund Orders and agent services. The comprehensive Fund platform aims to optimize the distribution ecosystem of Funds in Hong Kong. With the support of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, HKEX has been collaborating with regulatory bodies and Industry participants and will continue to consider stakeholders' opinions and suggestions.
