Alphabet (GOOG.US) subsidiary Google and Samsung Electronics announced a joint venture into the mixed reality market, launching a new operating system and headset to challenge Apple (AAPL.US) and Meta (META.US) devices.
The two companies launched a version of Google Android software for XR, showcasing a Samsung-manufactured headset codenamed Project Moohan, which is set to launch next year and features similar functions to Apple's Vision Pro, including its curved front, built-in speakers, and high-resolution display; however, the market claims that the Samsung device feels lighter.
