In the USA, the PPI in November rose by 0.4%, surpassing expectations, while the number of initial jobless claims unexpectedly increased last week. The three major US Indices were soft on Thursday, with the Nasdaq falling from the initial close of over 0.02 million points, opening down 87 points or 0.4% at 19,947 points, continuing to decline by about 100 points early on.
The S&P 500 Index opened down 9 points or 0.2%, reporting at 6,074 points; the Dow opened up 20 points or nearly 0.1%, reporting at 44,168 points.
Technology stocks weakened, with Tesla (TSLA.US) falling over 1%, Alphabet (GOOG.US), which had a strong trend in recent days, dropping less than 1%, NVIDIA (NVDA.US) down nearly 2%, and Apple (AAPL.US) remaining stable.
Adobe (ADBE.US) fell 12% in early trading, as the company’s new fiscal year targets fell short of expectations.
