Gelonghui, December 12 | With the year-end holidays approaching, corporate buyers are prioritizing their technology spending plans for 2025. Tae Kim, a columnist for Barron's Technology, wrote that according to a recent survey, Google Cloud has rapidly emerged in the corporate AI spending race and may become the winner. According to the 2025 Chief Information Officer (CIO) survey released by Piper Sandler, 81 CIOs were asked about budget priorities across various vendors and technology sectors. The survey showed that 87% of the participating CIOs expect to increase their IT budget for 2025, which is the highest percentage since the survey began in 2020. In this survey, Google Cloud's position rose significantly, surpassing Microsoft and OpenAI, becoming the "most strategically significant" AI vendor, receiving 27% support, a substantial increase from 15% six months ago. In comparison, Microsoft's support dropped from 33% to 24%. When asked which cloud company they plan to use for testing or implementing AI projects next year, 50% of respondents chose Google Cloud, making it the top AI infrastructure provider. Additionally, Piper Semiconductor Analyst Harsh Kumar pointed out that these results are also favorable for NVIDIA, as all cloud companies are major buyers of NVIDIA's AI Chips. Kumar estimates that the total AI Chip market will see opportunities exceeding $500 billion by 2028.
