EK Geotechnical Survey LLC (hereafter, “EKGS”), established by K-Line Wind Service Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “KWS”), which is a joint venture between Kawasaki Kisen Co., Ltd. (hereafter, “Kawasaki Kisen”) and EGS Survey Pte Ltd. (hereafter, “EGS”) for marine geological survey business, will conduct a geological survey owned by EKGS at Hiroshima Port for 5 days from November 25 An unveiling party for the ship “EK HAYATE” was held.
During the same period, not only customers involved in offshore wind power generation, but also people involved in marine development, research, and construction related to CCS (carbon dioxide capture and storage), etc., and a total of about 120 customers visited various research equipment such as main ships and rigs (drilling equipment).
[State of the unveiling]
By clarifying the underground structure of the seabed through geological surveys, it is possible to determine the sea area where offshore wind power generation can be implemented, and the arrangement plan and design of the facility can be examined. As a Japanese flag geological survey ship, this ship is equipped with a dynamic positioning system (DPS), which is a fixed-point holding device, and the latest rig equipped with sway correction functions, and performs soil sample collection, offshore boring, etc. Furthermore, a laboratory composed of various measuring instruments is provided on the deck, and immediate laboratory tests at sea can be carried out, providing a safe and efficient investigation environment within a limited construction period.
EKGS will contribute to the development of the offshore wind power industry aimed at making society carbon neutral by utilizing the assets of this ship and both Kawasaki Kisen and the EGS Group.
