Following the election of Trump, who supports Cryptos, as President of the USA and his push that drove Bitcoin's price to surge, Vancouver, Canada, passed a motion that may promote the use of Bitcoin in its city finances.
According to Zhituo Finance APP, as Trump, who supports Cryptos, was elected President of the USA and pushed up Bitcoin's price, Vancouver, Canada, passed a motion that may promote its use of Bitcoin in city finances. On Wednesday, the Vancouver City Council passed a motion proposed by Mayor Ken Sim titled 'Protecting the City’s Purchasing Power through Financial Reserve Diversification – Becoming a Bitcoin-Friendly City'. This motion will instruct city government staff to analyze the potential for integrating Cryptos, such as accepting Bitcoin for taxes or converting some of Vancouver's financial reserves into Bitcoin.
The Mayor of Vancouver has decided to be more outspoken about Cryptos because 'suddenly, with what is happening in the USA, other nation-states, provinces, and states are showing signs that they would do the same', 'we want to stay ahead of them'.
Since announcing this motion in late November, Ken Sim has been a fervent advocate for Bitcoin, calling it 'the greatest invention in human history', stating that traditional fiat currency will 'trend towards zero'. Ken Sim believes that the 'potential' value of Bitcoin is just a small part of its future value, although he emphasizes that he is not qualified to provide investment advice.
