Malaysia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed for a mutual short-stay visa exemption for diplomatic and official or special passport holders.

The MOU was signed between Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Haji Hasan and Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud following the conclusion of the inaugural meeting of the Saudi-Malaysian Coordination Council (SMCC).

The signing marks a significant step forward in the excellent bilateral relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, built on decades of long-standing collaboration since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1957. The ministry said it is also a special recognition for Malaysia accorded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which would facilitate travel and enhance direct engagement between the members of the administration and officials of the two countries.
