CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) stated that it welcomes the release of the "Hong Kong Sustainable Aviation Fuel Strategy Policy White Paper" by the Hong Kong Sustainable Aviation Fuel Coalition (HKSAFC). The analysis and recommendations outlined in the paper broadly represent stakeholders across sectors and aim to support the sustainable aviation fuel policy proposed in the new policy report, which is expected to promote the application and ecosystem development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Hong Kong.
The company anticipates that as the aviation industry transitions to a low-carbon future by increasing the use of SAF, relevant initiatives will strengthen Hong Kong's commitment to carbon reduction and ensure its competitiveness as an international aviation hub. The general manager of the group's sustainability department, Zhang Cheng'en, stated that enabling Airlines to obtain sufficient sustainable aviation fuel supply at competitive prices is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the position of Hong Kong International Airport as a top international aviation hub. There is an expectation to continue collaborating with Other stakeholders to support the government in improving relevant policies and strengthening Hong Kong's leadership in the aviation industry.
