NEC Platforms has joined the Connectivity Standards Alliance, the organization that develops the international standard for the Smart Home field, "Matter" (Note 1), as a "Participant" member (Note 2) on December 4 of this year, headquartered in California, American, with President and CEO Tobin Richardson.

The company is engaged in the business of home gateways for telecommunications operators that play a central role in smart home networks supporting efficient living through IoT and AI technologies, as well as routers for general households. Furthermore, the company provides services such as "NetMeister," which realizes status monitoring and control of network equipment from the cloud, as well as kitting and delivery from domestic factories, and effective use of recycled resources from used products, providing value to many businesses and users. The products and services offered by the company are highly compatible with the international standard "Matter," which is responsible for the status monitoring and control of smart appliances and IoT devices, and decided to join the Connectivity Standards Alliance this time.

In addition, as a member company of the general incorporated association LIVING TECH Association, which promotes Smart Home in Japan (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, representatives: Tomohiro Yamashita and Daisuke Sawada, hereinafter referred to as LIVING TECH Association), it joined on November 29 of this year. Taking the opportunity of joining the Connectivity Standards Alliance and the LIVING TECH Association, efforts will be made to promote collaboration through partnerships with various stakeholders in order to contribute to the expansion and development of the Smart Home market.
