The DNP Cultural Promotion Foundation will hold a solo exhibition titled "The Space of Graphic Design" by art director/graphic designer Atsuki Kikuchi at the Ginza Graphic Gallery (ggg, Tokyo) from December 10, 2024 (Tuesday) to February 1, 2025 (Saturday).

About the exhibition "The Space of Graphic Design".

The last exhibition of 2024 and the opening of 2025 at ggg will feature art director/graphic designer Atsuki Kikuchi. Since starting his design work while studying in the sculpture department at Musashino Art University, he has continued to be active for over 30 years, developing his unique methodology. He has produced numerous excellent works in fields such as visual identity (VI) and signage planning for museums, as well as art direction for fashion brands, and editorial and book design. Simultaneously, he has also held numerous exhibitions of experimental works with criticality, engaging in multifaceted expressive activities.
This exhibition will explore the theme of "Graphic in the Space" through three installations that investigate the relationship between "space on the plane" and "plane in the space." Experience the graphic design of Kikuchi that stirs the sense of sight.

About Atsuki Kikuchi.

Art director / graphic designer. Born in Tokyo in 1974. Dropped out of Musashino Art University, Sculpture Department. Started working in graphic design while still enrolled in 1995. Founded Blue Mark in 2000, dissolved it in 2011. Established a personal office in the same year. Focuses on fields such as art, crafts, architecture, and fashion, handling VI planning, signage planning, and editorial design. Major works include VI and signage planning for Aomori Museum of Art (2006), PLAY! MUSEUM (2020), Yokohama Museum of Art (2024), and art direction for fashion brands like mina perhonen (1995-2004), and Sally Scott (2002-2021). Also frequently presents exhibitions that refer to flat expressions.
