Dr. Nicolas O’Brien, the Irish Ambassador to china, stated in his speech: Select Milk is a leading enterprise in the industry, providing people with a rich source of dairy products. Select Milk's achievements in the dairy industry are due to technological innovation and the pursuit of quality. Select Milk has made great achievements in sustainable development, especially in the construction of low-carbon dairy farms.
Sustainable development is an important global strategy for our country, especially the 'Dual Carbon' strategy. As a leading enterprise in the dairy industry, Select Milk has formulated a sustainable development strategy and 'Dual Carbon' goals, deeply integrating sustainable development strategy with technology transformation strategy, accelerating carbon reduction and sustainable development through technological innovation. In recent years, Select Milk has strategically cooperated with globally renowned animal protection enterprises such as the Irish Aurivo Group, USA Cargill Group, German Bremer Group, Dutch DSM Group, building an open, co-creation, sharing, and win-win innovation platform to accelerate technology strategic transformation and carbon neutrality progress.
Currently, Select Milk has achieved twelve breakthrough results in low-carbon emissions throughout the 'From A Blade of Grass to A Cup of Milk' full industry chain, especially selecting 1308 low-carbon emission gene cattle from the population genetics emission reduction technology route; extracting active substances from plants that effectively inhibit methane generation, increasing the biological utilization rate of carbon and nitrogen in cow rumen, reducing rumen methane emissions, improving rumen fermentation efficiency, and developing the first domestic carbon-reducing feed; leading the industry by applying photovoltaic power generation on barn roofs; using electric milk transport vehicles, electric loaders, and other electric power equipment instead of fossil fuel equipment; replacing fossil fuel equipment with feeding robots, pushing robots, and cleaning robots through smart equipment; reducing carbon with anaerobic biogas fermentation systems and intelligent robot biological aerobic fermentation systems; using no-till solid carbon technology to enhance agricultural and forestry carbon sinks, transforming 0.055 million mu of degraded grassland in Inner Mongolia's Ar Horqin Banner into a high-quality alfalfa base. After a series of technological innovations and strategic resource inputs, Select Milk has established the first zero-carbon factory and the first low-carbon dairy cattle breeding farm in the domestic fodder industry; developed the industry's first tradable VCS carbon assets farm; developed the country’s first soybean farm committed to 'zero deforestation'; and obtained the country's first animal health carbon footprint certification. At the same time, Select Milk’s Standard & Poor's CSA questionnaire score is 95% higher than the industry average, it has been selected for the 2024 Standard & Poor's Sustainability Yearbook (Chinese version), becoming the only enterprise in the food industry to receive the 'Best Progress Award'.
