JPMorgan recently placed Cathay Pacific Air on a positive watchlist.
According to the Zhizhong Finance APP, JPMorgan released a research report giving Cathay Pacific Air (00293) a "shareholding" rating and a target price of 9.6 HKD.
The bank pointed out that Cathay Pacific Air's global strategy is to utilize several key driving factors that will boost performance in the short term. Due to potential new tariffs and tight supply in the aviation industry, there has been an advanced loading of goods, leading to increased air freight costs, which benefits Cathay. Additionally, Cathay Pacific Air's strong cash flow and early redemption of convertible bonds alleviate significant pressure on its stock price, further enhancing its financial position.
JPMorgan believes that against the backdrop of the upcoming Trump 2.0 government's plans to increase oil production, a decline in fuel costs is expected to provide bullish factors for margin expansion. Cathay possesses a strong market influence, holding about 40% of the Hong Kong air freight market, and seems fully capable of taking advantage of these favorable conditions. JPMorgan recently included this stock on its positive watchlist.
