Ooil (00316.HK) announced that its first 16,828 TEU container ship was officially named the 'Oriental Bauhinia', the first of ten brand new 16,000 TEU container ships ordered by the group. It is also OOIL's first new Panamax type container ship in nearly ten years, serving the Pan-Pacific PCC1 route connecting Asia and the West Coast of the USA. The port cities include Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach, Busan, Ningbo, and Shanghai, with a sailing cycle of 42 days.
This series of ships is the first time OOIL has named a ship after flowers. The ship is approximately 367 meters long, 51 meters wide, 30.2 meters deep, with a design draft of 14.5 meters, and a capacity of 16,828 standard containers. It is one of the largest ships that can pass through the new Panama Canal locks, featuring the latest technological innovations and asia vets solutions, setting new standards in eco-friendly concept, energy efficiency, digital intelligence, operational safety, and onboard comfort.
