SouthGobi (01878.HK) announced that its Ovoot Tolgoi coal mine and Sumber coal project have submitted new independent technical reports. The estimated and controlled resources in the Sunrise mining area increased by approximately 9.8% from 0.122 billion tons as of December 31, 2016, to 0.134 billion tons as of December 31, 2023. The estimated and controlled resources in the Sunset mining area decreased by approximately 3.2% from 0.181 billion tons as of December 31, 2016, to 0.175 billion tons as of December 31, 2023. As of December 31, 2023, the estimated and controlled resources in the B coalfield exploration area are 14.29 million tons.

The latest technical report on the Sumber coal project mentions that as of December 31, 2023, the confirmed and inferred reserves of the Sumber coal project total 25.14 million tons. The estimated and controlled resources in the Buluute mining area increased by approximately 72.7% from 67.9 million tons as of January 10, 2013, to 0.117 billion tons as of December 31, 2023. The estimated and controlled resources in the Zalagaarant mining area decreased by approximately 7.1% from 25.7 million tons as of January 10, 2013, to 23.88 million tons as of December 31, 2023. The estimated and controlled resources in the East Sumber special mining area decreased by approximately 14.4% from 32 million tons as of January 10, 2013, to 27.4 million tons as of December 31, 2023.
