The market responded positively to the drop in long-term interest rates, with the tech sector leading the way, resulting in a strong performance throughout the day and the Dow setting a new record high.
The Tokyo Growth Market Index started at the previous weekend's closing level but immediately turned negative. Showing resilience below the 820-point mark, the market recovered slightly towards midday in line with the movements of the Nikkei average, ending the morning session with a small gain. The afternoon session started negative again, and due to the relatively strong position of the main market, the market lacked direction around the previous weekend's closing level. Toward the end of the trading day, the market slightly widened its losses.
Individually, Japan Denki <5759> fell the most by 35.62%, as it continues to be sold due to its upcoming delisting on December 28th. Cover <5253> faced aversion due to the announcement of the end of a talent's activities, QPS Research Institute <5595> experienced a significant decline following the sudden surge the previous week, while Kaioum <4583> dropped sharply due to margin trading regulations. Among the top traded stocks, Ortz <260A>, Plaid <4165>, among others, declined. In the top decliners, Jay Frontier <2934>, Hoover Brain <3927>, Data Horizon <3628>, and others ranked high.
On the other hand, BTM <5247> topped the increase by 22.18%. ZUU <4387> was fueled by the capital business partnership with ACN Holdings, while Wealthnavi <7342> rose to the daily limit due to Mitsubishi UFJ Bank's announcement of a tender offer bid for complete subsidiary acquisition.
