The Association of General Insurance of Malaysian or PIAM has assured its members who represent insurance companies that speedy processing of claims will be conducted for those affected by the floods.
In a statement, PIAM CEO Chua Kim Soon said member companies are committed to playing a crucial role in supporting flood victims by providing timely assistance and expediting the claims process.
To assist the victims, the associated urges affected policyholders to check their Policy: Verify if the fire or motor insurance policy includes flood coverage. While standard policies may not cover flood damage, its members do offer optional flood coverage.

It also has committed to swift claims processing by prioritising flood claims to ensure timely payments. Some insurers have implemented expedited claims processing procedures, and on-ground mobile claims units to streamline the process.
