SBI Investment Co., Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of SBI Holdings Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, Chairman and President: Yoshitaka Kitao), in collaboration with Mitsui Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Takeshi Nao, hereinafter referred to as"Mitsui Metal"), has established a Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) Fund, "Mitsui Kinzoku-SBI Material Innovation Fund II," targeting promising venture companies in Mitsui Metal's existing and new business areas where business synergy is expected domestically and internationally. We would like to announce this.

Based on its core purpose, "Exploration Spirit and Integration of Diverse Technologies to Make the Earth Smile," Mitsui Metal is working on creating new businesses that contribute to realizing a sustainable society by combining external forces (customers, partner companies, universities, etc.) with the company's strengths (core technologies, know-how, sales channels).
Through the establishment of the "Mitsui Kinzoku-SBI Material Innovation Fund" in September 2017, investment activities focused on the fields of "Environment & Energy," "Life Sciences," and "Electronics" have been carried out globally with 11 venture investments, collaborating with investee companies to advance multiple business creation activities. To further promote collaborative activities more strongly as a long-term endeavor, following the first fund, the successor fund "Mitsui Kinzoku-SBI Material Innovation Fund II" has been launched. The fund size is 5 billion yen, and the operating period is planned for the next 5 years.
Through investment in this fund, Mitsui Metal aims to continuously create new businesses by integrating the cutting-edge technologies and business models possessed by venture companies with the strengths the company has cultivated, working towards realizing its all-company vision for 2030, "A business development company that contributes to the future with the wisdom of materials."

SBI Investment Co., Ltd. is a core company in the SBI Group's investment business and as a "New Industry Creator," it invests in next-generation growth areas such as AI, blockchain, fintech, IT, bio-health care, and environmental energy, among others. As of November 2024, the cumulative committed investment amount of the CVC funds it operates exceeds 150 billion yen.
SBI Investment will leverage its established network and knowledge in corporate development to support business partnerships and capital alliances with investee companies, contributing to the revitalization of the Japanese economy in the future.
