泄露、恐袭,全球最重要的油管系统正面临双重风险

Leakage and terrorist attacks pose dual risks to the world's most important pipeline system.

The northern oil pipeline of the Druzhba system may experience a "leak", while the southern oil pipeline is troubled by terrorist threats.

The Druzhba Pipeline, also known as the 'Friendship Pipeline,' is one of the world's largest, longest, and most important crude oil transportation systems. It transports crude oil from Russia to several countries in Europe, including Germany, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

Last Sunday morning, foreign media reported the possibility of a leak in the northern section of the pipeline (within Poland). Meanwhile, another report stated that concerns about terrorists attempting to disrupt the southern section of the oil pipeline are increasing.

According to reports, fire department spokesperson Martin Halasz said over the phone that emergency response teams locked down the area around the pipeline near Pniewy in western Poland upon receiving reports of a potential leak last Sunday morning. He confirmed an earlier report by the PAP news agency.

Halasz stated that representatives from the Polish National Oil Pipeline Operator, PERN SA, are on-site and have shut down the flow of crude oil from east to west. This oil pipeline supplies the Leuna and Schwedt refineries in Germany, with both refineries purchasing oil via the Gdansk port in Poland. The Schwedt refinery also buys oil from Kazakhstan.

The northern section of the pipeline supplies Russian crude oil to the Leuna and Schwedt refineries in Germany, while the southern section supplies refineries in Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic with Russian crude oil.

In addition to reports from Bloomberg, the Russian media outlet TASS also quoted Slovakia's Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok warning that an organized group in the region where the Druzhba Pipeline passes through could be preparing for potential terrorist actions.

Estok stated: 'Activities related to preparing for terrorist actions against critical infrastructure have been discovered in eastern Slovakia.' He added that similar activities of the same organization have been found in Slovakia and Hungary as well.

A few weeks ago, analysts at S&P Global Commodity Insight pointed out: "Although most European refineries supplied by the Druzhba network, which transports 1 million barrels per day, have stopped buying Russian crude oil in response to the conflict in Ukraine, some southern branches are still delivering around 0.3 million barrels per day of Urals crude oil to three factories."

PERN SA stated in a website declaration that one of the two pipelines in the Druzhba network reported a leakage incident last Sunday, which has not yet affected the petroleum supply to German refineries via Poland.
