Recently, according to market media reports, apple has ordered the M5 chip from taiwan semiconductor. The report states that the M5 series chips are expected to utilize an enhanced ARM architecture, and for cost reasons, apple will use taiwan semiconductor's 3nm process technology to produce the M5 series chips. Although still using 3nm process technology, the performance of M5 compared to M4 shows significant improvement because the M5 series chips will adopt taiwan semiconductor's System on Integrated Chips (SoIC) technology. SoIC technology allows chips to be stacked into a three-dimensional structure, achieving better thermal management and reducing leakage. The first batch of devices equipped with M5 may be launched at the end of next year or early 2026.
In addition, the report also noted that apple plans to deploy M5 chips in its AI server infrastructure to enhance the AI capabilities across consumer devices and cloud computing service. sinolink's research reports indicated that apple's iPhone SE 4 is expected to be released in March next year, and core beneficiary companies in the apple industry chain are projected to have high growth in performance in the first quarter of next year. nvidia's GB200 server industry chain PCB-related manufacturers have received large orders and are ramping up production significantly, with performance expected to see high growth in the fourth quarter and the first quarter of next year. AI edge applications are accelerating, likely bringing innovation and new opportunities to hardware products such as smart glasses, TWS headsets, wearables, and mobile/PC devices.
