In the U.S. "Black Friday" half-day market, all three major indices performed well, with the Dow rising 188 points or 0.4% to 44,910 points; the S&P 500 index closed higher by 33 points or 0.6% at 6,032 points, both indices hitting new closing highs. The Nasdaq rose 157 points or 0.8% to 19,218 points.

The Dow rose 1.4% this week, with a monthly gain of 7.5%; the S&P 500 index rose 1.1% this week, with a monthly gain of 5%, making it the best performing month so far this year. The Nasdaq rose 1.1% and 6% for the week and the month, respectively. The small-cap Russell 2000 index soared 10.8% this month.

Reports indicate that the Biden administration is considering additional barriers on semiconductor equipment sales to China, but these barriers are not as strong as previously expected. Nvidia (NVDA.US) rose by 2.2%, Intel (INTC.US) rose by 1.7%, while Arm (ARM.US) increased by less than 1%.

Technology stocks performed well, with Apple (AAPL.US) and Amazon (AMZN.US) up by 1%, and Tesla (TSLA.US) rising by 3.7%. However, AMD (SMCI.US) fell by nearly 7%.

Hasbro (HAS.US) closed 2% higher, reportedly being considered for acquisition by Musk.
