The data shows that in September 2024, the national key large retail enterprises (mainly department stores) saw a year-on-year decrease of 11.58% in the retail sales of clothing, a 12.30% year-on-year decrease in the retail volume of clothing, and a 10.56% year-on-year decrease in the retail volume of sports outfits.
Looking at the brand data for September, the average retail price of sports outfits has increased compared to last year. Among them, brands with an average selling price between 200-500 yuan have the highest overall market share, while brands with an average price of 1000 yuan and above have shown the most significant increase in market share compared to the same period last year, with a rise of 3.22 percentage points.
The top ten brands in terms of overall market share include Adidas, NIKE, FILA, Li Ning, Anta, Descente, 361 Degrees, Skechers USA, Xtep, and Kappa, with a total market concentration of 62.42%. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a growth of 1.91 percentage points, remaining stable month-on-month.
Since the beginning of this year, various major sports events have brought new development opportunities for sports outfit brands. On one hand, as consumers continue to place greater emphasis on health and sports, sports outfits, as a daily attire, are seeing increasing demand for functionality, comfort, and fashion. On the other hand, consumers are transitioning from purely focusing on the functionality of sports outfits to seeking a blend of functionality and fashion, integrating functional sports outfits into their daily wear. Therefore, sports brands that combine professional performance with stylish design are more favored by consumers. Among the top ten brands in September's market sales, Descente and Anta performed well, with their brand's overall market share increasing by 1.77 and 0.87 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
