A partnership has been established with the European index Molecular Biology Research Institute to support next-generation research and technology development.
Promoting the development of next-generation microscopes in collaboration with international research institutions leading the frontiers of molecular biology.
November 27, 2024 PRESS RELEASE / Press Material.
Nikon Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Nikon) has newly concluded a technology development partnership with the european molecular biology laboratory (EMBL).
This collaboration will enable Nikon to accelerate the development of next-generation microscope technologies and provide solutions to complex challenges faced by the global research community.
EMBL is an international research institution with six sites across europe, highly regarded for its research in molecular biology and other fields. It operates in a wide range of areas from basic research to applied sciences, promoting innovative discoveries and technology development in life sciences. Collaboration with EMBL will be an important partnership for incorporating the latest research results in molecular biology in real-time and developing technologies that directly reflect researchers' needs.
This partnership is a new framework developed by EMBLEM (European Molecular Biology Laboratory Enterprise Management), a wholly-owned subsidiary of EMBL and a technology transfer partner, based on the long-term cooperation between EMBL and nikon corp spons as well as previous project-based collaborations.
Under this partnership, nikon corp spons aims to contribute to the development of next-generation microscopes by early testing the latest technology in the market and reflecting the feedback obtained in technology development, as well as promoting the advancement of science.
nikon corp spons is one of the founding members of EMBL's corporate partnership program and has contributed to the career development of young scientists for the past 13 years. This program aims to fulfill another important mission of EMBL by providing global on-site training and scientific conferences while building long-term and fruitful relationships with corporate partners. Through such initiatives, nikon corp spons will continue to actively contribute to the development of the science community and new research support.
Comment from EMBL Director General Edith Heard.
nikon corp spons is both a scientific collaborator and a long-time partner of EMBL, having supported young scientists for a long time through the corporate partnership program. This collaboration will lead to the rapid realization of next-generation microscopes and cutting-edge technology concepts, benefiting all stakeholders.
Through this partnership, nikon corp spons technicians and EMBL researchers will closely collaborate, deepening direct exchanges while expanding research possibilities. This collaboration is expected to promote new technological innovations and contribute to the advancement of the entire scientific community.
Comment from Nikon Europe B.V. Director & Executive Vice President, Head of Healthcare Business Division, Masaki Numako.
Basic research is becoming increasingly active worldwide, with cutting-edge technology and innovations being pursued. Through cooperation with EMBL, we will predict future needs and contribute to improving people's quality of life (QOL) by commercializing new technologies applicable in fields such as science and healthcare. Moreover, we will quickly test the latest technology on-site and reflect valuable feedback from researchers in product development.
Through such initiatives, high-quality products that meet researchers' expectations will be realized, fulfilling the role of a reliable partner that supports research activities.
