HSBC Holdings (00005.HK) announced changes in senior management personnel, all appointments will take effect on January 1 next year. Richard Blackburn has been appointed as the interim Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer and will also become a member of the Group Operating Committee. The bank stated that the process of appointing a permanent successor for this position has begun, considering both internal and external candidates.
Additionally, Celine Herweijer, seeking new opportunities, has decided to resign from the role of Group Director of Sustainability, effective from December 31 this year. Julian Wentzel, the current global head of banks business, will temporarily take over the duties and report to the Group Chief Financial Officer, Pam Kaur. HSBC Holdings stated that they will start recruiting a permanent Chief Sustainability Officer and will provide further updates at the appropriate time.
HSBC also mentioned that Selim Kervanci has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East region through an internal recruitment process, pending regulatory approval. Selim will report to HSBC Asia Pacific Co-CEOs, Liao Yi Jian and Surendra Rosha.
