①Three types of robots are expected to achieve large-scale production in the future: autos, drones, and humanoid robots, with humanoid robots having the highest production volume. ②The South China Greater Bay Area is the only region that possesses both electromechanical and artificial intelligence technologies, providing unique advantages for the development of the robotics industry.
Star Daily News November 25th (Editor: Song Ziqiao) Recently, $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ Founder Huang Renxun appeared in Hong Kong and attended the 2024 Hong Kong University of Science and Technology honorary doctoral degree award ceremony. Huang Renxun was awarded an honorary doctoral degree in engineering and delivered a speech, discussing the transformation and outlook of ai, and mentioned two major trends: siasun robot&automation and AI Agents.

Huang Renxun expressed that artificial intelligence is triggering a scientific revolution, opening up a new computational era that will impact every scientific field and every industry. "I am delighted to see so much energy being devoted to the progress of AI science, and I am pleased to see AI driving scientific progress at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and throughout China."
Due to the breakthrough in physical artificial intelligence, investments in robot technology in heavy industry and manufacturing sectors are surging. With the rapid development of cognitive intelligence basic models and physical intelligence basic models, the era of robots is approaching.
After the award ceremony, during a conversation with Shen Xiangyang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Huang Renxun specifically pointed out that three types of robots are expected to achieve large-scale production in the future, and almost exclusively limited to these three types. Other types of robots that have appeared in history are difficult to achieve large-scale production. These three types of robots are: autos, drones, and humanoid robots.
He believes that since we have built a world tailored to autos, they can be candidates for large-scale production; drones show huge production potential due to their ability to freely soar in almost unrestricted skies; while humanoid robots, because humans have built a world perfectly suited for human survival, provide unique advantages for the large-scale production of humanoid robots. "The humanoid robot with the highest production volume will be because we have built a world for ourselves."
Huang Renxun stated that large-scale production is crucial because it can drive the technology flywheel effect. High investment in research and development (R&D) can bring about technological breakthroughs, producing better products, further driving the expansion of production scale.
In addition, he also mentioned the unique advantages of the south China greater bay area concept on a global scale. He pointed out that the bay area is the only region with both mechanical and electrical technology and ai technology, providing unique conditions for the development of the robotics industry. The other two strong countries in the mechanical and electrical industry are japan and germany, but they have obvious weaknesses in ai technology and urgently need to increase investment to catch up. "Here in the bay area, we have a unique opportunity, I will seize this opportunity tightly."
Regarding AI Agents, Huang Renxun said:"Companies and businesses around the world are competing to adopt artificial intelligence to accelerate innovation and increase productivity. Soon, AI Agents will be integrated into every team in the companies, including marketing, sales, supply chain, chip design, software development and various other departments."
Currently, the two most influential men in the tech industry are both bullish on humanoid robots.
Huang Renxun has always been a supporter of humanoid robots. In an interview in June of this year, Huang Renxun compared the diffusion of humanoid robots to the popularity of cars after their invention. He predicts that humanoid robots will become as popular as cars in the future and expects significant advances in robot technology in the next two to three years. "I think in 100 years, we will see humanoid robots everywhere."
Regarding this interview video, Musk agrees with Huang Renxun's views and also states,"The popularity of humanoid robots will be 10 times higher than cars."
In June, Musk also expressed his thoughts in a live broadcast, predicting that the number of humanoid robots worldwide will eventually surpass the human population."I believe that in the long run, the ratio of humans to humanoid robots will exceed 1:1. In other words, a person may have two or more humanoid robots."
Just last week, Tesla CEO Musk introduced the pricing vision of its Optimus robot and Robotaxi smart driverless taxi, claiming that Tesla is currently working to provide corresponding products to consumers at a low stock price. Musk claims that Optimus will be priced at $20,000 to $30,000, and the price of Robotaxi will also be around $30,000. These two products are expected to be formally launched to consumers within 2 years, but there is also a possibility of delays until 2027 or even 2030 depending on the specific circumstances. In addition, Musk said that in order to achieve a balance between product price and sales volume, Optimus robot and Robotaxi smart driverless taxi need an annual production volume exceeding 1 million, ensuring affordability for users and return for investors.
