Amazon launched a new smart display Echo Show 21 on Wednesday, which is the largest smart screen currently released by the company.
According to Wisdom Wealth APP, Amazon (AMZN.US) launched a new smart display Echo Show 21 on Wednesday, which is the largest smart screen currently released by the company. At the same time, Amazon also introduced the upgraded Echo Show 15. These two smart screens are designed for wall installation, suitable for limited spaces like kitchens, making full use of vertical space.
It is reported that the upgraded Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21 both focus on integrating video calls, streaming, and smart home control, creating a space-saving 'kitchen core device.' The upgraded Echo Show 15 is priced at $299.99, while the Echo Show 21 is priced at $399.99.
The upgraded Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21 both feature dual 2-inch woofers paired with two 0.6-inch tweeters, providing stronger bass performance and richer overall sound effects. Both smart screens feature new noise reduction technology and optimized framing functions, greatly enhancing the video calling experience. Amazon states that these two devices have twice the camera field of view of the first-generation Echo Show 15 and support a wider range of digital zoom.
Both devices support Wi-Fi 6E, which offers faster speeds and lower latency compared to Wi-Fi 6. In terms of smart home functions, the new devices feature built-in Matter protocol smart home hubs, compatible with Wi-Fi, Thread, and Zigbee protocols, all equipped with octa-core processors and Amazon's AZ2 neural network engine.
Apple (AAPL.US), seeking to compete with Amazon in the smart home market, is reportedly close to launching a new product category—a wall-mounted display that can control home appliances, handle video conferences, and utilize AI navigation applications. According to sources, Apple is preparing to release this product as early as March next year, positioning it as a home command center. This product, codenamed 'J490,' will also focus on the new Apple Intelligence AI platform.
Reports indicate that this new product has a 6-inch screen, resembling a square iPad, equivalent in size to two iPhones placed side by side; the screen is surrounded by a thick border; there is a camera at the front top, along with built-in speakers and a rechargeable built-in battery. Apple plans to offer two color options: silver and black. This product has a touch interface that resembles a mix of Apple Watch operating system and this year's Apple introduced iPhone StandBy mode. However, Apple anticipates that most people will interact with the device using voice commands, relying on Apple's voice assistant Siri and Apple Intelligence.
