Independent Chairman of the Board of PCB Bancorp Sang Lee Buys More Stock

Simply Wall St ·  Nov 19 23:50

Potential PCB Bancorp (NASDAQ:PCB) shareholders may wish to note that the Independent Chairman of the Board, Sang Lee, recently bought US$190k worth of stock, paying US$20.72 for each share. However, it only increased shareholding by a small percentage, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At PCB Bancorp

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Independent Director, Daniel Cho, sold US$462k worth of shares at a price of US$18.47 per share. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of US$20.80, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. We note that the biggest single sale was only 20% of Daniel Cho's holding. Daniel Cho was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 99.94k shares worth US$1.7m. On the other hand they divested 25.00k shares, for US$462k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by PCB Bancorp insiders. Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 22% of PCB Bancorp shares, worth about US$64m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
