On the 18th, TIANDS Group <4055> announced that its subsidiary, the TIANDS Advanced Technology Business Headquarters, applied for the 12th Research Proposal Solicitation (RFP12) at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Space Exploration Innovation Hub and its adoption was unofficially decided.
At JAXA Space Exploration Innovation Hub, a new research system, 'Moon to Mars Innovation,' has been implemented to conduct joint research by setting research topics related to system/element technologies to gradually realize lunar/martian exploration based on the International Space Exploration Scenario starting from the fiscal year 2024.
In RFP12, two themes were set as system-type tasks and four themes as game-changing tasks. The company selected the game-changing task '【Next-Generation Mobility Area】High-precision, low-power consumption, real-time self-positioning technology for lunar/martian exploration rovers and deep space probes' and applied for it.
In the research proposal, the company has combined its accumulated edge AI field image recognition technology with program implementation/optimization technology to create a joint research proposal and make proposals for the set tasks.
Following the adoption, the company plans to create a 2-year implementation plan in collaboration with JAXA for the research proposal, and after signing the contract, they will start joint research.
The company plans to actively work on research and development aimed at further improving their edge AI technological capabilities and looking towards future space applications through this joint research.
