According to reports from domestic media, NIO-SW (09866.HK)(NIO.US) CFO Qu Yu revealed at the "31st China Society of Automotive Engineers Annual Conference" that NIO has invested over 50 billion yuan in research and development over the past ten years. Since 2022, NIO's annual research and development expenditure has remained stable at around 10 billion yuan, approximately 3 billion yuan per quarter. Currently, NIO has about 11,000 engineers, and the total number of patents applied for and authorized globally has reached 9,300.

Qu Yu stated that under the current backdrop of the global automotive industry's transformation and upgrading, NIO is increasing its investment in research and development, which is expected to further enhance the company's core competitiveness, especially by laying out 466 patents in the battery swapping field, including the latest invention patent for a wireless charging device. The investment and patents highlight NIO's technological strength and innovation capability, helping to consolidate its leading position in the new energy automobiles industry.
