Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Osamu Hashimoto) has received the "IR Excellent Company Award" at the 29th "IR Excellent Company Awards 2024" selected by the Japan Investor Relations Association.

The company received the "IR Excellent Company Award" in 2022 and the "IR Excellent Company Special Award" in 2023, marking three consecutive years of recognition.

The "IR Excellent Company Award" by the Japan Investor Relations Association honors companies that deeply understand the purpose of IR, actively engage in it, and achieve excellent results with high support from market participants.

In 2024, among the 355 applicants from member companies of the Japan Investor Relations Association, two companies were selected for the "IR Excellent Company Grand Prize," six for the "IR Excellent Company Award," two for the "IR Excellent Company Special Award," and two for the "IR Excellent Company Encouragement Award" based on the results of survey questionnaires reviewed by a committee composed of analysts, investors, and media organizations.

The reasons for our award are as follows.

• The top management consistently shows a commitment to enhancing corporate value. Additionally, when issues arose at the plant in 2024, information was swiftly disclosed as soon as it was possible to forecast a restart, providing opportunities for the top management to explain directly.

• Continuing to reform the business portfolio against the backdrop of environmental changes, the approach of discussing this along with the growth strategy was well received.

• The IR department is working on improving levels through setting up meetings between management and investors, enhancing events such as business briefings, and responding to inquiries based on the latest internal and external information.

Three years have passed since the group launched its long-term management plan "VISION 2030."

As the business environment changes significantly at the global level, a basic strategy centered on "business portfolio transformation" and integrated management of financial and non-financial aspects is being advanced, with the entire company working together towards goal achievement.

These efforts of the company are actively communicated through opportunities for direct dialogue between management, responsible parties from related departments, the IR department, and stakeholders in meetings and events. Additionally, in this fiscal year's integrated report, discussions and roundtables were held between management and outside directors with stakeholders such as academia, investors, and analysts.

In the future, through such opportunities, the aim is not only to provide fair and highly transparent information but also to utilize the diverse perspectives and app feedback gained from it to enhance corporate value further.
