Barely a month after the unveiling of BYD M6, Sime Darby Motors has unveiled another ocean-inspired masterpiece from BYD, the BYD Sealion 7.
BYD Malaysia Managing Director Eagle Zhao said the Sealion 7 is a performance SUV that combines power and premium styling with the comfort and versatility of an SUV, the ideal option for drivers seeking thrilling performance without compromising comfort.
With two variants available for the flagship model, Premium and Performance, Zhao said the Sealion 7 is set to redefine performance, premium styling and utility for what an electric SUV can achieve.
"The Premium variant delivers an impressive combination of power and range as it provides 230kW of power and 380Nm of torque, allowing the Sealion 7 to accelerate from zero to 100kmh in just 6.7 seconds.
"With an electric range of up to 567km on a single charge, the Premium variant is perfect for both urban commuting and long-distance journeys as it enables drivers the flexibility to travel far with fewer charging stops," Zhao said.
He added that the Performance variant, meanwhile, is able to handle highways or navigating city streets with ease.
"At a staggering 390kW of combined power and 690Nm of torque, the Performance variant is able to achieves the 100kmh from zero within 4.5 seconds, a truly remarkable feat for an SUV," Zhao said, adding that the Performance variant has an electric range of 542km.
He mentioned that Sealion 7 is equipped with the innovative and cutting-edge Blade Battery which provides a longer range and extended lifecycle, reducing downtime with convenient support for both AC charging and DC fast charging.
To ensure the safety of all its passengers, the Sealion 7 is equipped with nine airbags, ensuring thorough protection in the event of a collision.
Additionally, Zhao said advanced driver-assistance technologies further elevate the Sealion 7's safety features.
"Its Adaptive Cruise Control allows for stress-free highway driving, while Automatic Emergency Braking helps prevent potential collisions, and its Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Detection are designed to alert drivers of any risks, keeping both the vehicle and its occupants safe," Zhao added.
Meanwhile, Zhao mentioned that stepping inside the Sealion 7 unveils a refined, high-tech cabin that redefines the driving experience.
"Apart from the genuine leather-wrapped seats that provide a perfect balance of style and comfort, at the heart of the interior is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen that can seamlessly integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for effortless connectivity.
"Furthermore, the DYNAUDIO 12-speaker system delivers immersive sound, enriching the driving experience for everyone on board," Zhao said, adding that both variants of the Sealion 7 comes in four colours — Cosmos Black, Aurora White, Atlantis Grey and Shark Grey.
"The Sealion 7 Premium variant is priced at RM183,800, while the Performance variant is available at RM199,800," he said.
In conjunction with the unveiling of Sealion 7 and BYD's second anniversary, both Sime Darby Motors and BYD are offering an exclusive programme for its BYD owners where they are welcome to trade-up their BYD cars for the Sealion 7.
At the same time, a special early bird promotion is also available for those who book a Sealion 7 by Nov 17, 2024.
