JERA Co., Ltd., ENEOS Power Co., Ltd., and Kyushu Electric Power Co., Ltd. have been progressing the replacement of the Iwai Thermal Power Station through the joint venture company, Iwai United Generation Co., Ltd. (GIUG). Today, we would like to announce that the Iwai Thermal Power Station Unit 2 has commenced commercial operation.

This power plant Unit 2 uses LNG as fuel and adopts the Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC) system. With a power generation output of 0.78 million kW, we believe it can contribute to a stable power supply. It is also a state-of-the-art thermal power plant boasting the world's highest level of power generation efficiency, striving to reduce CO2 emissions and reduce environmental impact.

The three companies will continue to steadily progress the replacement of the state-of-the-art Iwai Thermal Power Station.
