Today's growth market sees a continued decline in the Tokyo Growth Market Index and Tokyo Growth Market 250 Index, with 209 gaining stocks, 352 declining stocks, and 27 remaining unchanged.
Today's growth market saw a soft tone. The U.S. market on the 13th was mixed. Buying dominated the sense of security as the October Consumer Price Index (CPI) matched expectations. Additionally, expectations of further interest rate cuts at the December Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting due to the CPI results strengthened, leading to a rise in the market. Dow maintained strength throughout the day, but Nasdaq faltered in the late session, turning into a decline.
As the U.S. stock market closed with mixed results, the Tokyo Growth Market Index continued to decline at the start. Despite widening losses in the morning, immediate buying pushed it temporarily into positive territory. However, the buying momentum did not continue, leading to a fall back into negative territory. Subsequently, there was a mix of buying and selling, resulting in a soft and undecided development. The exchange rate accelerated towards 156 yen to the dollar, yet the main board market lacked the driving force for stock price increases, with resistance in the emerging stocks segment. Concerns about increasing trade tensions, such as the appointment of hardliners in the Trump administration's personnel decisions, may have negatively influenced individual investor sentiment. However, there was active interest in selecting individual stocks after the earnings reports were released.
In individual stocks, Kaonavi <4435> recorded a 20% decline as its consolidated ordinary profit for the July-September period fell by 31.0% compared to the same period last year. Fluttaflutta <2586> continued its selling trend from the previous day, dropping by 17%. Additionally, Trip Works <6548>, which had seen a significant increase following the earnings announcement the day before, fell by 16% due to profit-taking sales predominance. Among the top market cap stocks, Genda <9166> and Free <4478> experienced a soft movement. Leading the declining rate were Rakir <4074>, Cyber・Buzz <7069>, and Yutori <5892>, among others.
On the other hand, Outlook Consulting <5596> disclosed that it had received a TOB from its subsidiary Money Forward Cloud Management Consulting, aiming for consolidation, leading to a 30% increase and the highest percentage gain. Toridri, which achieved its highest profits in the July-September period, was evaluated for accelerating growth, rising by 20%, hitting the daily limit up. Asasu <246A>, which announced its performance for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending June 2025, rose by 14%. Among the top market cap stocks, Trial <141A> and GNIGroup <2160> were performing well. Leading the increase rate were ImageMagic <7793>, Inforich <9338>, and Azum <3496>, among others.
