Singapore Airlines Completes Merger of Vistara With Air India

Singapore Business Review ·  Nov 13 11:31

It now holds a 25.1% stake in the expanded Air India group.

Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) has announced the completion of the proposed merger between Vistara, its 49% associated company, and Air India.

With the merger finalised, SIA now holds a 25.1% stake in the newly expanded Air India, which includes Vistara's operations. Vistara will no longer be classified as an associated company of SIA, while Air India will take on this designation.

SIA confirmed it will proceed with an additional capital injection into Air India, revised to $498 m (INR31,945m). This adjustment does not affect SIA's 25.1% equity interest in the merged airline, and the targeted issuance date for the additional shares remains November 21, 2024.

The group said it will use its internal cash resources to fund the additional capital injection.
