After the announcement, the search volume for airline tickets during the Spring Festival in 2025 on the Ctrip platform increased by 1.7 times, and the search volume for tickets on New Year's Eve increased by 2.5 times.

Zhitong Finance and Economics APP learned that the General Office of the State Council issued a notice on the arrangement of some holidays in 2025: Starting from January 1, 2025, all citizens will have 2 additional days off, with 1 extra day for the Spring Festival and Labor Day respectively. This means that the Spring Festival and National Day in 2025 will have 8 days of holiday, while the Labor Day will have 5 days off. After the announcement, the search volume for airline tickets during the 2025 Spring Festival on the Ctrip platform increased by 1.7 times, and the search volume for New Year's Eve increased by 2.5 times.

Based on the current booking situation, on New Year's Eve, users in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and other places have high bookings for flight tickets. Some users have already planned to take a 4-day vacation from February 5th to 8th, extending it to a 13-day long holiday. Consumers in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Chongqing, and other places have started booking return flights on February 9th, preparing for a 4-day vacation to enjoy a 13-day break.

From the current booking data of Ctrip, the popular domestic destinations for overall travel orders during the Spring Festival holiday are: Shanghai, Beijing, Harbin, Guangzhou, Sanya, Xi'an, Chengdu, Shenzhen; and the popular outbound destinations are: Tokyo, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Singapore. Meanwhile, domestic winter escape destinations like Sanya, Kunming, and Lijiang have seen a search volume increase of over 60%.

Ctrip analyst Wang Yalei said: "Holidays are important nodes for driving consumption in tourism, transportation, dining, and other sectors. In 2024, domestic trips and consumption during various holidays such as May Day and National Day reached historic highs. The overall addition of 2 days to statutory holidays in 2025 is welcomed by all, and with the notice emphasizing that 'except for special circumstances, the statutory holidays generally do not exceed 6 consecutive working days before and after the holiday,' it means that the public's troubles with 'holiday compensations' will be alleviated. In particular, the 8-day long holidays for the National Day and Spring Festival in 2025 will help boost holiday tourism enthusiasm and enable passengers to choose off-peak travel, easing the pressure of concentrated holiday travel."
