Gelonghui November 12th | Xinjiang Ba Yi Iron & Steel (600581.SH) announced that the company's steelmaking plant has 120t and 150t two converter production lines. The 150t converter production line is equipped with 2 sets of billet continuous casting machines, supplying the bar production line; the 120t converter production line is equipped with 4 sets of slab continuous casting machines, supplying the hot rolling production line and wide and thick plate production line, with the maximum size of 1800mm×250mm. The connection between the 120t converter production line and the hot rolling production line can be hot delivered, but supplying the wide and thick plate production line requires transportation by autos, unable to achieve hot loading and sending, with poor economy, and the total volume of slab in the 120t converter production line cannot simultaneously meet the supply for hot rolling and wide and thick plate production lines. The wide and thick plate production line is limited by the type of billet, with a maximum single weight of less than 11.5t; for wind power steel, it cannot meet the supply requirements for wind tower cylindrical assemblies with a maximum single weight of 20t. Container steel and hydropower steel also have similar maximum single weight requirements, all requiring the steelmaking plant to provide larger slab raw materials. The project construction's tax-excluded total investment does not exceed 238.9563 million yuan.
