Basis Inc. <4068> announced on the 11th that they have signed a contract with Airion, an AI venture originating from the University of Tokyo, to outsource AI development. They have started a verification experiment to automate the confirmation work of NCU installation accuracy on gas meters using AI in collaboration with their in-house cloud-based construction management system, BLAS.
Through the collaboration with Airion this time, the newly developed AI can confirm the physical installation status. For example, it can identify the type of gas meter, determine whether the cable connection point is screw type or plug-in type, detect which penetration hole the cable is passing through, and verify whether the cable is wired correctly. These confirmations, which previously required visual inspection despite the large quantities involved, are now automated using AI. This enables a reduction in the workload of confirmation tasks and the achievement of improved installation accuracy.
After the completion of the verification experiment, they will integrate the developed AI with BLAS and begin utilizing it on-site sequentially. They also plan to strengthen cooperation with Airion and consider applying it to other fields and systems. As a result, they aim to promote technological innovation throughout the industry and contribute to the realization of a high-quality and sustainable society.
