Anyone interested in Alamo Group Inc. (NYSE:ALG) should probably be aware that the Executive VP & Chief Sustainability Officer, Dan Malone, recently divested US$386k worth of shares in the company, at an average price of US$196 each. That sale was 26% of their holding, so it does make us raise an eyebrow.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Alamo Group

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, Michael Haberman, sold US$398k worth of shares at a price of US$225 per share. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$196). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
