Xiaopeng's pace has never been as fast as it is now. Less than three months since the launch of Xiaopeng's new car, Xiaopeng has released another new car.
On November 7th, the Xiaopeng P7+ was officially launched with a starting price of 0.1868 million yuan. This car made its debut a month ago and started pre-sales at the Paris Motor Show.
In addition to the pace, what amazes the public is Xiaopeng's ability to replicate popular models. As of 24:00 on November 7th, the P7+ has already won 31,528 orders, causing temporary system crashes.
The popularity of the Xiaopeng P7+ has shown investors the changes in Xiaopeng and they are optimistic about its future performance. On November 8th, Xiaopeng's Hong Kong stock surged by more than 20%, closing up over 14.7%.
In the pursuit of replicating popular models, Xiaopeng seems to have found the secret. The attractive appearance, solid battery life, Xiaopeng's expertise in intelligent driving capabilities, combined with a highly competitive price, have all contributed to the success of the Xiaopeng P7+ after its launch.
As a C-class space, all series 800V, equipped with high-end intelligent driving and other configurations, a pure electric car with a range of over 600km, Xiaopeng has set the starting price for the P7+ at 0.1868 million yuan, which is indeed very competitive in the current market.
The current 0.2 million-level pure electric coupe represents models such as Xiaomi SU7, Zeekr 007, Jiye 07, and Zhiji L6. But the most competitive is still Xiaomi SU7, and even the "cost-effectiveness" of the current Xiaopeng P7+ exceeds that of Xiaomi SU7.
The starting price of Xiaomi SU7 is 0.2159 million yuan, and this version has a similar range as the extended range version of Xiaopeng P7+. However, compared to each other, Xiaopeng P7+ has larger space, lower price, more mature intelligent driving, many small functions are all standard, and it is still on the 800V platform, with faster charging capability.
However, when He Xiaopeng was asked about competition with SU7, he said he never saw Xiaomi SU7 as a competitor, but instead considered them as "friendly forces" developing in different directions.
For consumers who are new to new energy, solid range is crucial to impress them. Usually, intelligent driving is often the focus of Xiaopeng's conferences; but in this conference, range was also one of the key parts explained.
This time, using only 60.7kWh and 76.3kWh battery packs, Xiaopeng P7+ achieves ranges of 602km and 710km in CLTC respectively. Even this achievement is only for now. In December, P7+ will undergo OTA for range upgrade, adding another 13km. As a comparison, the standard version of Xiaomi SU7 uses a 76.3kWh battery pack, reaching a range of 700km in CLTC.
In order to achieve longer range with smaller batteries, the Xiaopeng team also fine-tunes energy management with various detailed optimizations.
Xiaopeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng revealed that the P7+ team has used more than 20 technologies to refine energy management, such as applying borderless rearview mirrors, integrated front and rear casting for lightweighting of the entire vehicle, and active oil cooling technology, each optimizing range by as little as 0.6km and up to 13km.
This year, Xiaopeng He frequently tests the new car's endurance, driving until the endurance is finally exhausted, then getting out of the car with colleagues to push it, all to showcase Xiaopeng's solid endurance and energy management.
On the other hand, the spacious interior is one of the highlights of this car. Xiaopeng He has emphasized that the mission of the P7+ is to allow more people to enjoy the space and comfort of a "luxurious executive sedan." Xiaopeng has also set his sights on the '56E,' mentioning specific indicators at the press conference, often using the Audi A6L as a benchmark.
In terms of dimensions, this car has dimensions of 5056*1937*1512mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3000mm, making it a standard size for a C-class sedan. However, internally, Xiaopeng has managed to achieve an 88% room efficiency through various detailed adjustments.
For the sake of space, Xiaopeng chose to move the A-pillar forward, hide and move the C-pillar, and also used a double-layered wing design to make the rear space more spacious. Xiaopeng mentioned that when he sat in the car, there was still a space of two fists above his head.
In addition, Xiaopeng P7+ comes standard with advanced intelligent driving functions across the entire range, no longer distinguishing between Pro and Max versions. There is no need for additional options, charges, or subscriptions. Users can use the high-speed and urban NOA functions immediately after purchasing the car.
In addition to the standard advanced intelligent driving features, Xiaopeng P7+ also comes with a series of configurations such as panoramic sunroofs, ventilated and heated massage front and rear seats, and a rear small table, making the entry-level models more popular.
Furthermore, Xiaopeng also learned a lot of user-oriented demands from Lei Jun. Xiaopeng P7+ pays attention to details, with hooks, slots for placing phones, and even considering scenarios of folding phones and multiple phones.
Xiaopeng P7+ is Xiaopeng's first model after reducing costs through technology, marking the beginning of Xiaopeng's direction for the next decade. With a sufficiently cost-effective price and competitive performance within the same price range, it has laid a solid foundation for its upcoming popularity.
However, after the explosive popularity of the character setting, the industry still worried about Zeekr.
During the launch event of Zeekr P7+, He Xiaopeng apologized to the owners of MONA M03, stating that Zeekr already owes many cars.
In the past three months, Zeekr has increased production capacity three times. Although they delivered over 0.01 million vehicles in the first month, still many cars were delayed by around one month. He Xiaopeng introduced that in the next two months, Zeekr will continue to increase production capacity, with an expected increase of 30%-40%.
Currently, the popularity of Zeekr P7+ has surpassed MONA M03, which opens up imagination for Zeekr's future scale but also adds pressure to delivery.
In the past, due to delivery issues, Zeekr G6's overall sales cycle shortened, and sales quickly returned to normal. Regarding MONA M03, Zeekr stated that they have sufficient production capacity but still face delivery delays, which will affect the overall sales cycle.
In handling this issue, Zeekr's approach is more mature. With the P7+, Zeekr learned from the lessons of MONA M03. On the night of the launch event, He Xiaopeng held a meeting with executives to discuss production capacity issues and planned for the fourth increase in production capacity.
Perhaps, overcoming delivery challenges, Zeekr still has the opportunity to achieve economies of scale and surpass more significant delivery milestones. Zeekr is gradually moving away from past disappointments, showing a new attitude, and still has the potential to become a member of the future automotive giants.
