According to Zhitong Finance App, Carrot (02549) announced that on November 8, 2024, the buyer Hangzhou Carot Trading (an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the company) signed an agreement with the seller Hangzhou Vanke Asian Games Village Development Co., Ltd. According to the terms and conditions of the agreement, the buyer agreed to buy and the seller agreed to sell the property, and the total cost was RMB 66.5 million.
According to reports, the property is an office space with a total construction area of 2402.93 square meters, located in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, China; and 20 parking spaces.
According to the announcement, the group is currently leasing a property with a total floor area of 1473.5 square meters in Hangzhou as its headquarters, and the lease is about to expire. After considering (i) the Group's need for larger office space to meet its expanding business requirements; (ii) the rental costs of the existing headquarters; and (iii) the risk of the Group being unable to renew the lease with similar and/or commercially acceptable terms and conditions when the lease expires or terminates, the directors believe that the acquisition of the property is in the interests of the Group, and that the property will be renovated in early 2025 and then used as the Group's new headquarters. In the long run, the property will provide a secure office space for the company's operations, save on rent and relocation expenses, and improve the Group's operating efficiency. In view of the above, the Board considers that the terms of the acquisition and agreement (including the total cost) are based on general commercial terms, are fair and reasonable, and meet the overall interests of the Group and shareholders.
