As of today's closing, solid-state battery concept stocks rose by 2.64%.
Finance Network News November 7th (Reporter Liu Yang): As the core direction of the next-generation battery technology, with the increasing penetration of new energy and the landing of low altitude economic scenarios, the all-solid-state battery track is further activated. By the close of today, solid-state battery concept stocks rose by 2.64%. Among the individual stocks in the sector, Grinm Advanced Materials, Goldlok Holdings(Guangdong), Shanghai Zijiang Enterprise Group hit the limit up, Xawax New Energy, Guangdong Jiayuan Technology rose by more than 15%, Guangzhou Great Power Energy and Technology, Shenzhen XFH Technology, Pylon Technologies followed suit.
On November 7th, Chongqing Changan Automobile and Tianlan New Energy jointly released the technology of solid-state lithium battery without separator. This technology marks the industry's first achievement of eliminating traditional liquid lithium battery separator by introducing a highly dense composite solid-state electrolyte layer on the electrode surface to replace the separator function.
"Separator-free technology can be applied to both semi-solid-state batteries and all-solid-state batteries." Gao Xiang, Chairman and CTO of Tianlan New Energy, introduced that removing the separator is just the first step. In the concept of "material reduction manufacturing," Tianlan New Energy proposes the 4-3-2-1 technology route: based on the four main materials of traditional liquid lithium batteries, the first step is to remove the separator and part of the electrolyte; the second step is to completely remove the electrolyte; the third step is to remove the negative electrode, making the transition from semi-solid state to all-solid state more clear.
According to the plan, Tianlan New Energy's separator-free semi-solid-state battery is scheduled to start vehicle testing in 2026 to meet the demand for new energy vehicles; the separator-free all-solid-state battery is expected to achieve mass production in 2027 and demonstrate application in special fields. This is consistent with Chongqing Changan Automobile's plan - according to Changan Automobile's plan in the battery system technology field, the goal is to promote the gradual mass production and application of solid-state batteries with an energy density of 350-500Wh/kg no later than 2027, and achieve full popularity by 2030.
With the development of the new energy vehicle market, solid-state batteries have become the focus of global battery technology competition. On November 5th, Huawei released its latest sulfide solid-state battery patent, titled "Doped Sulfide Material and its Preparation Method, Lithium Ion Battery." It is reported that this patent involves doping materials including nitrogen elements, enabling the doped sulfide material to have better stability with metallic lithium, resulting in lithium-ion batteries with longer service life. On October 24th, "Beijing Yizhuang" announced that the first full solid-state lithium battery production line in China has been put into operation, capable of producing 50 amp-hour full solid-state batteries. On October 26th, Jiangxi Yudu's 500MWh full solid-state battery production line was officially put into operation, and full solid-state battery products were also released.
On the OEM front, Chery announced earlier that the company is developing Kunpeng solid-state batteries and plans to achieve targeted operation of solid-state batteries by 2026 and mass listing by 2027; BYD's patent application for "full solid-state batteries, battery packs, and electrical devices" was recently granted public notice; SAIC plans to achieve mass production of full solid-state batteries in the fourth quarter of 2026, with SAIC Qingtao's first full solid-state battery production line to be completed by the end of 2025; GAC Group plans to achieve full solid-state battery installation in 2026 and first deploy it on Haobo models. In addition, more than ten overseas car companies including Volkswagen, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, General Motors, BMW, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz are all accelerating the research and mass production of solid-state batteries.
It is noteworthy that, driven by the low-altitude economic industry policy, the aviation field is gradually becoming an important application scenario for solid-state batteries. On November 5th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held the first meeting of the overall workgroup for promoting the key tasks of high-quality development of the low-altitude industry. On the same day, Shenzhen held the launch meeting for the high-quality construction of low-altitude economic infrastructure. It is noted that in addition to Contemporary Amperex Technology, EVE Energy, Farasis Energy (Gan Zhou), Gotion High-Tech, Farasis Energy, and other leading lithium battery companies have stated their intentions to cooperate in the field of battery for low-altitude flights to seize the market opportunity.
In November, Chongqing Changan Automobile and Tailing New Energy jointly held a solid-state battery technology conference, and the industry is expected to usher in another catalyst. Citic Securities research report believes that recently, leading OEMs have made progress in the field of solid-state batteries. In October, top domestic and international OEMs have continuously promoted the research and application of solid-state batteries through cooperation or layout. In addition, the aviation sector is gradually becoming an important landing scene for solid-state batteries, and lithium battery equipment manufacturers are expected to explore the second growth curve in the field of solid-state batteries. Battery manufacturers, solid-state electrolyte companies, and companies related to the solid-state battery industry chain that are strategically deploying solid-state battery business are expected to fully benefit.
China Securities Co., LTD. predicts that by 2025, the global solid-state battery market space may reach tens to hundreds of GWh and a scale of trillions of yuan. Orient research report pointed out that in the early stage, all-solid-state batteries are expected to be the first to be applied in consumer electronics, aviation, aerospace, and high-end electric vehicle markets. By 2030, the penetration rates in power batteries and consumer batteries are expected to reach 2% and 10%, respectively.
