大家樂 (00341.HK) issued a profit warning, expecting the mid-term net profit for the period ending September 30 this year to decrease by up to 30% annually, compared to the mid-term recorded net profit of about 0.2 billion yuan in 2023. The group explained that this was mainly due to the weak economic conditions during the period and the increasing overseas consumer habits of citizens, causing a more severe decline in the overall dining industry in the first quarter than expected. This was further impacted by the high base effect brought about by the strong sales recovery following the lifting of epidemic restrictions in the same period last year.
