LIXIL Co., Ltd. (hereinafter LIXIL) would like to announce that the curtain wall-type front sash for medium and low-rise buildings and the functional toilet with integrated ceramics have been awarded the Incentive Award for Local Inventions in the Reiwa 6th year, which honors engineers and researchers who have produced outstanding inventions, designs, or designs in the local regions (organized by the Japan Institute of Invention).

The curtain wall-type front sash "ML Series" for medium and low-rise buildings, which won the Incentive Award at the Kanto Regional Invention Awards, combines high performance and a slim design by adopting a new structure. In response to the increasing disasters, it has devised drainage structures to ensure stable watertightness, and has focused on noiseless design down to the smallest details such as concealing the butt joint lines and the absence of visible fixing screws, achieving a beautiful facade.
Similarly, the functional toilet with integrated ceramics, which won the Incentive Award at the Chubu Regional Invention Awards, achieves high design and cleanliness through a technology that forms the entire circumference of the toilet bowl without joints in materials such as resin but with ceramics. This technology, starting with the release of "SATIS G" in 2013, has been widely adopted in domestic and overseas products. This technology has also been inherited in the "SATIS X" released in June 2024.

This patent, which was invented during the development of the first generation Satis G about 10 years ago, is characterized by being able to form the entire circumference of the toilet without seams using materials such as resin, all made of ceramics. Satis G and other products have been widely deployed in both domestic and overseas markets. This patent, which combines high design and cleanability, has been inherited by Satis X, released in June 24, enriching and continuing to make people's living environment rich and comfortable. What is the regional invention award?
The purpose of the regional invention award is to encourage and promote inventions in the region, contribute to the improvement of science and technology, and the promotion of regional industries. It was established in the 10th year of Taisho by the Japan Institute of Invention, dividing the country into eight regions (Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, China, Shikoku, Kyushu), and each region aims to honor technicians and researchers who have produced excellent inventions, designs, or concepts.
