The US stock market hit a new high at the opening on Wednesday, as Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election triggered a wave of trading favored by the new government and boosted risk sentiment.
The S&P 500 Index rose 2.1% at the opening, reaching an intraday record high of 5,905.60 points.

The Nasdaq 100 Index, mainly composed of technology stocks, rose 2.2% at one point, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 3.2%.
Tesla soared more than 15% at one point, hitting an intraday high not seen since July 2023.
Donald Trump's media company, Trump Media & Technology Group, surged 35% at one point before retreating, but the increase was maintained at around 12%.
The volatility index at the Cboe Global Markets dropped significantly.
E-mini Russell 2000 Index opened up 4%.
