News release on November 6, 2024, on sustainability and the environment.
Toyota Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. has recently obtained certification from the international initiative "SBTi (Science Based Targets Initiative)" for our greenhouse gas emission reduction target, recognized as a target based on scientific evidence.
Our CO2 emission reduction target until the 2030 fiscal year is set at a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions from our production activities, compared to the 2021 fiscal year, and a newly established goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 30% in Scope 3, Category 11, during the use of products sold by our company, compared to the 2018 fiscal year, actively promoting efforts towards CO2 emission reduction.
Target audience | Base year | 2030 Fiscal Year Target |
---|---|---|
Scope 1 emissions, by a factor of 2, reduced by 3 | 2021 | Reduction by 42% |
Scope 3 emissions (Category 11) | 2018 | Reduction by 30% |

Under the 'Global Environmental Declaration' aiming to achieve a sustainable society in harmony with the earth, we have set the goal of zero CO2 emissions globally in 'Vision for 2050'. Based on this vision, we have developed the 7th Environmental Action Plan (2021-2025), focusing on environmental activities.
In order to firmly promote this initiative, specific numerical targets based on scientific evidence up to the fiscal year 2030 have been newly set for CO2 emission reductions from production activities to product use stages as Scope 1, 2, and 3. We will further promote energy saving in production activities, innovation in production technology, utilization of renewable energy such as photovoltaic technology, and development of high-efficiency and lightweight products, as well as components for electric vehicles such as HEV, PHEV, BEV, FCEV, fuel cell forklifts that use hydrogen as fuel, and forklifts that utilize carbon-neutral fuel. We will continue to advance the development and introduction of new technologies into the market.
We will continue to work on reducing CO2 emissions for our company and the entire supply chain in order to solve our customers' problems and contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.
