According to the survey results, Meta collected sensitive information about 0.98 million Korean users from their personal profiles on Facebook, such as their religious views, political views, and whether they are married to the same sex. According to the Personal Information Protection Law, information relating to personal thoughts, beliefs, political opinions, sex life, etc. is classified as sensitive information subject to strict protection, and processing is prohibited in principle. Meta also provides advertisers with sensitive personal information collected without permission, and around 4,000 advertisers have used this sensitive information.
